Caring for your flowers at home

Keep the water fresh. The water in your vase will naturally start to get cloudy and contain bacteria… changing the water frequently ensures that your flowers are staying hydrated and fresh.

1

Trim your stems with a sharp scissor or pruners at a slight angle. Doing this as soon as you bring them home, and a couple times through out the week will help keep the stems open and porous.

2

Remove spent flowers... The vase life of different flowers will vary, it’s completely normal for certain varieties to out last others. By removing spent flowers, the water will stay cleaner, and the remaining flowers will shine brighter.

3

Keep out of direct sunlight, and keep in a cool room if possible. Cut flowers like it cool! They tend to fade faster, and at times become droopy or wilty when they experience too much heat or direct sunlight.

4

When your bouquet is finished…We hope you will consider composting your flowers! They are completely chemical free and make for great “green matter”.

Always handle dried flower goods with the utmost of care, as they become rather brittle once dried. Dried flowers last longest and stay brightest when kept away from direct sunlight & harsh temperatures. If you are hoping to enjoy a wreath for example for more than a single season, you may want to consider displaying it indoors rather than outdoors, as it will last far longer. Carefully tuck your dried floral goods away in a storage bin or cardboard box to protect from dust when you aren’t using it. When your dried flowers are finally spent, we hope they will find their way to a compost heap. Wreaths will need to be de-wired, which can be tedious but is certainly possible! It saddens us to think of these beauties in the land fill. If you would like us to pick up your wreath for composting, please send us an email to arrange something!
